What is the experience of buying Apple products in Vietnam
In Hanoi, for example, Apple does not have an official Apple Store in the Vietnamese market, but there are a number of authorised resellers. According to the official website, there are as many as 99 sales locations in Hanoi alone.
Some of these outlets belong to telecoms operators such as VIETTEL and some belong to digital shops like DIGBOX. In general, resellers like DIGBOX sell a much wider range of Apple products, covering everything from mobile phones and laptops to small accessories. However, even the largest resellers are not very impressive by China's standards in terms of size.
Even with the latest release, the iPhone 14, you can see huge outdoor advertisements on the streets. The prices of these products are still high relative to young people's wages, but with instalments and parental support, you can still afford them. (The selling prices here are also unattractive compared to the discounts in China.)
The newest and most expensive ones need to be pre-ordered with a shop assistant face to face, and it should be noted that Apple Pay is not supported in Vietnam, also literally some of the products they sell only support 4G or LTE networks, I'm not sure if they are compatible with China's 5G network.
Whatever you want to buy, it's always advisable to first determine which retailer carry it via Apple's Vietnam website. There is a filter on the official website that will help you find the nearest shop that has it in stock.
DO NOT use Google Map to find a digital shop.
I travelled dozens of kilometres in vain before I realised this.
